Considering the horrible Safeway on Shattuck in Berkeley (5 minutes from our house), I will happily drive over the hill to shop at this beautifully renovated store (15 minutes from our house). It's homey, with its wood-look floors. There is a great bakery (we have none), and a Starbucks inside (ditto)...well worth the drive for this mom-of-3.

I have been shopping at this store since 1971. During that time, it has done noyhing but gone down hill. The shelves are rarely adequately stocked with specials nor does the staff know much about them. Few of my friends/neighbors shop here unless it's an emergency. Right now I'm on the phone attemping to reach customer service and there is no answer! unfortunately, we are a captive audience in Orinda...

Love to shop here. Couldn't be more please. Always clean and easy to fing what you need. Safeway overall, is a great place to shop and fing good bargains.
